West Orange, NJ – After four successful Mary Kline Classic All-Star events, and the recent implementation of the Winter Classic, the Mary Kline Classic heads into year five of this spectacular event.
With $104,000 raised for cancer research through the National Brain Tumor Society and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the Mary Kline Classic remains dedicated to doing their part in raising awareness and funds in order to find a cure for cancer. The goal remains the same since the beginning of the event – honor those battling, or who have battled, cancer, and teach people of all walks of life that philanthropy can make a major difference in the lives of many.
From the over 100 alumni who have participated in the event, we have been fortunate enough to spread this trend nationally and globally with representatives playing around the country at the high school, college and professional levels, as well as those who will move on from basketball to pursue another passion and impact the world.
On Saturday, May 30th, we will continue that trend as we return to West Orange, New Jersey. The 5th annual Mary Kline Classic takes place Saturday, May 30th at West Orange High School in New Jersey beginning at 6PM EST.
The event which has featured Khem Birch, Tyler Ennis, Wayne Selden, Rondae Jefferson, Karl Towns, Georges Niang, Chris McCullough, Isaiah Whitehead, Cheick Diallo, Romelo Trimble, Isaiah Briscoe, Malachi Richardson and many others will bring in 20 of the top prospects in the classes of 2016 and 2017 to participate in the Underclassmen game, followed by 20 of the best seniors from the class of 2015 participating in the Senior game. In between the games will be the annual 3-Point Shootout sponsored by Gatorade and Slam Dunk Contest sponsored by Skullcandy. Nike will also be a key sponsor, once again.
Rosters for the Classic will be revealed in early April.
